The GLAAD Prom Project calls on high school students around the country to submit their stories about prom and help raise awareness in the media of the struggles and triumphs that young people meet when living authentically. Students could talk about acceptance from school administrators and attending prom as they wanted, discuss discrimination they faced on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression, or simply share a story around being an LGBT-identified young person at prom. GLAAD will be featuring several prom stories on our blog, and a few may get elevated in the media.
